Get to know us!

Get to know our business, how it was founded and where we are now, and how we're committed to quality and great service.

Join us as we try to get our name out there and build lasting connections for decades to come. We're glad you're here to be a part of our story.

Founded in 1957

We were founded in August 1957 when our Father, Lawrence (Curly) Murray bought the business at 139 High street from N.G. Tucker. Soon to join and start our own apprenticeships with him in 1965 and 1967. Then as established tradesmen in 1973  we bought shares in the business. Soon as our business grew we knew we needed to upsize, purchasing the plot and building our new workshop across the road at 136 high street in 1996.

Creating and striving for Excellence

Taking on more and more work we had to grow to cover the work load at our peak employing up to 8 joiners. Competing in competitions for top apprentice, Simon Barkley winning top apprentice joiner in Taranaki in 1991, and then Carey Mander winning gold for New Zealand's Top apprentice joiner at the SkillEx Nationals, also with another just coming short achieving runner up.

Where we are now

At the time being we are only a small team trying to grow once more consisting of Ian and Donald Murray, and our Worker Samuel. We have just purchased our 1st CNC router and cant wait to see what we can do with it.
